In 2019 - 2021, the u.s. Department of state ("dos") funded a four-year scholarship program for central Asian students to attend the American university of central Asia ("auca"). The final class of the dos fellows graduated in june 2025. Us-caef supports the dos graduating fellows by providing a graduation reception and graduation booklets, whichthe us department of state program does not provide. In 2024, the u.s. Department of state funded another four-year scholarship program for central Asian students to attend auca. However, the grant was canceled by the dos in spring 2025. To assist the dos students in continuing their Education at auca, u.s.-caef has entered into a grant agreement with auca to pay the living expenses (stipends, medical insurance, housing allowance, travel for internships) for these students.
