National Tartan Day New York Committee Inc

The mission of the National Tartan Day New York Committee, comprised of the saint andrew's society of the state of New York (formed 1756), the New York caledonian club (formed 1856), the american-scottish foundation (formed 1956), and the clan campbell, is to plan, and implement an annual parade in New York City, and coordinate the events. And activities surrounding the day, that celebrates the contribution of scots, and scottish-americans to the development of the United States. The parade is held on or about Tartan Day, april 6, a date designated, in perpetuity, by presidential proclamation issued by president george h.w. Bush following the passage of a unites States senate resolution and a United States house of representatives resolution, each of which acknowledges the extraordinary contribution that scots and scottish-americans have, and continue to make to the wellbeing of America.
