Parents of music students (poms) is a parent-run booster organization for music programs in the Belmont public schools, K-12. Since 1971, poms has helped sustain Belmont's national reputation for high achievement in music by supporting the town's music families and the district's outstanding music faculty. In short, poms seeks to help provide the difference between a merely adequate music program and a sterling one. The poms mission is three pronged: 1)to operationally and logistically support the Belmont public schools' music program, its teachers and participating families and students, grades K-12. 2)to financially be in a position to cover music education-related expenses not covered by the school budget, that are needful to keep the school music programs to a high standard. 3)to champion music education in the public schools to the Belmont community.
