To stimulate public appreciation and understanding of, and interest in the theatrical arts; provide artists the opportunity to perform and provide training and performing experiences; to educate the public to an appreciation of the theatrical arts; to encourage the writing of works of theatrical art by American artists and to commission same; to lease, establish, maintain and operate a theatre for the production and presentation of works of theatrical arts and to produce and present such works.
