Our organization is an authorized adoption agency under the auspices of the NYS Office of Children and Family Services. We facilitate the placement of legally free children with adoptive families. Our agency provides home studies for prospective adoptive parents and works with public and voluntary foster care agencies to identify children to place with our approved families. Since 1975, we have placed over 4000 children in adoptive homes. The program also provides home studies for intercountry adoptions of minor relatives. This Fiscal Year we received 50 inquiries from the public. We hosted 11 info sessions and 30 prospective families attended. This resulted in 10 applications and 6 families were approved. Post adoption services include individual/family counseling and community referrals. The administrative staff are Social Workers who volunteer their time. Income is obtained through contracts with foster care and intercountry adoption agencies, fundraising, parent fees and donations.
