The purposes of the Alliance are to promote the common business interests of its members by engaging in initiatives to promote public discussion, timely decision making and coordinated policy development in the electricity and Energy supplies industries based on the Energy and economic needs, and environmental concerns, of the New England region; to conduct research related to the development of environmentally sound Energy supply and related infrastructure projects, policies and technologies across all fuel sources and market segments; to make the results of such research available to all members of the Energy industry, to government officials and to interested members of the public and to present the results of such research to government and other public policy agencies; and to conduct such other activities as are permitted by the Massachusetts general laws and which are appropriate for an organization described in section 501(c)(6) of the irc or any successor provision thereto.
