The Kallir Family foundation maintains and administers a collection of modern art works, principally by German and austrian artists and self-taught painters (in particular, grandma moses). Works from the collection are regularly loaned or donated to public institutions. In 2024, artworks were donated to the smith college museum of art, the museum of modern art, and the smithsonian American art museum. The foundation also signed an agreement with the Los Angeles county museum of art pledging to donate works from the collection over the course of the next five years. Several works by egon schiele were loaned to an exhibition at the neue galerie New York. The gustav mahler manuscript and the john kane painting are on long-term loan to the morgan library and the smithsonian American art museum, respectively.
