Hammond Fire and Rescue Inc

Hammond Fire & Rescue inc is a group of approximately 40 volunteers which have organized to provide fire protection and quality emergency medical care to the community it serves. It is located in Hammond, st. lawrence county, New York. The volunteers are on call to respond to emergency needs. Their primary focus is to offer fire protection and ambulatory service to the residents of Hammond. In the case of emergency the volunteers are dispatched to a scene. Depending on the circumstances, their duties vary. The organization is prepared to extinguish fires, Rescue trapped victims,provide emergency medical care and other duties as necessary. The group of volunteers consists of three advanced medical technicians which allow the organization to offer advanced cardiac care as needed. The members of the department also assist residents with pumping water out of cellars during high water events. Also, in emergencies or disaster, volunteers support police and medical personnel with traffic control. The department hosts a regular monthly meeting on the first thursday of the month.
