Victoria Foundation Inc

Strategy and grants management staff members at the foundation routinely spend time providing technical assistance to grantees and other charitable organizations on a wide range of matters, such as fundraising, board development, program evaluation, and fiscal management. In addition, the staff serves on myriad task forces and advisory boards and regularly engages in convening nonprofit and government agencies to work together to solve community problems and/or share best practices. The foundation also provides support to grantees over and above their grant awards for the year to address capacity-building and professional development issues. Examples of VF-funded direct charitable activities in 2024 included: engaging consultants to provide technical assistance to enhance fundraising capacity of its grantees;hosting a city-wide forum featuring national and local speakers addressing critical issues facing newark ; provided stipends to community residents and other partners for their time and involvement in the forum; engaging consultants to facilitate a strategic planning process that will help the foundation shift its practices to have greater impact on the root causes of generational poverty in newark, particularly structural racism. This foundational work helps fully develop strategies and implementation plans to address how the foundation deploys its resources.
