To promote a wider appreciation of American heritage with particular emphasis of the collection, advancement, and dissemination of knowledge of the history of Northumberland County, pa. To collect and preserve printed records, books, genealogies, newspapers, maps, portraits, engravings, and in particular the documentary heritage, including manuscripts, letters, journals, church and cemetery records and other materials relating to history.
