The trust is a non-profit organization incorporated in 1984 under the Massachusetts law for the purpose of preserving open land, water resources, wildlife and other natural resources; to establish and maintain trails; to preserve and protect historic sites; and to educate the public about the wise use of natural resources. At present, membership consists of those who are interested in the protection of open space in Westford, Massachusetts. The trusts holds numerous parcels of land for the benefit of westfords citizens and wildlife, and is involved with the care and maintenance of many of the more than 80 miles of trails in the town of Westford.
