The organization provides substantial support to the pew charitable trusts, a public charity described in internal revenue code sections 501(c)(3) and 170(b)(1)(a)(vi), which conducts and funds programs designed to improve public policy, maintain public awareness of significant issues and trends, and invigorate civic life.
