"service above self" describes the overarching mission of Rotary international as followed by the East Chapel Hill Rotary Club. The club fosters humanitarian and ethical behavior and undertakes service projects locally, nationally and internationally to help those in need. East Chapel Hill Rotary is a service organization built on the principle of "service above self" as evidenced through its service to a variety of local, national and international projects. The club provides support in the 7 areas of focus of Rotary international. While providing humanitarian services, it encourages high ethical standards in all vocations and helps build goodwill and peace in the world.
