Friendship Veterans Fire Association of Alexandria Virginia

Promote fire and life safety in community. Preserve historic antique fire equipment. Conduct good will with community breakfast and festival.organization's primary exempt purpose: mission statement--the association, established in 1774, assists in the preservation of the historic firehouse (circa 1855), in Alexandria va, supports the Alexandria fire department, and provides scholarships and other benevolent and philanthropic services to the Alexandria community. The association promotes civic involvement, honors the legacy of its 18th century founders--all dedicated citizen firefighters--and values the contributions of our present day first-responders. The Friendship firehouse festival showcases the historic firehouse (built in 1855) and highlights its antique fire service apparatus and equipment. It is an open house and street festival with community exhibitors showing off their wares. Attendance estimated between 2000-3000 visitors. The association awards a $1,000 educational schol
