1839 New Jersey City University

The American federation of teachers- local 1839 (aft-local 1839) was founded in 1972 and represents the faculty, professional staff, librarians, a h moore faculty/ staff and adjunct faculty at New Jersey City University and is an affiliate local of the American federation of teachers and the afl-cio. The aft-local 1839 is a founding member and actively involved in all the activities of the council of New Jersey state college locals, participating in union negotiations in full-time/part-time agreements and the adjunct faculty agreements.
