The Jefferson County Animal Welfare League ("JCAWL") operates as an "in-the-street" program to help stray cats, street cats, and poor people who need our assistance with their cats. JCWAL also provides food, medical care, and shelter to the cat colonies living in various locations on their own. We also identify people who are feeding stray cats in their neighborhood or on their own property and offer food, medical care, and shelter. Veterinarians in Jefferson County, Ohio, contact us if they have an owner or cat(s) in need of financial aid or later additional support is needed for the cat(s). While JCAWL works with cats, JCWAL will assist with dogs and other animals, spaying and vaccinating to provide the Animal a better quality of life. Most of the individuals or families whose animals are assisted are poor financially. By taking care of their animals at no charge, JCWAL assists these individuals and families financially.
