The services are provided as an operational and integral part of upmc williamsport, a related non-profit,federally tax-exempt entity under 501(c)(3) entity which operates a 21 bed medical and surgical Hospital. DPH supports upmc williamsport in providing the mental health and other services via providing the property and oversite of the property facility for upmc williamsport's use in performing activities that are key to its feederally tax exempt mission. Upmc williamsport treats all patients without regard to their ability to pay. During the Fiscal Year ended june 30, 2020 they provided inpatient and outpatient mental health services to constituting 4,425 patient days with 394 inpatient admissions. During the Fiscal Year ended june 30, 2020, upmc williamsport provided charity care and other uncompensated care, including Medicaid and Medicare shortfalls, at a cost of over $63,000,000. DPH also provided community outreach and support programs as well as contributions, research and educational support in Fiscal Year 2020.
