Sport shootingpistol, rifle and trap shooting ranges on the property permit members to refine their shooting skills.the pittsburgh and suburban rifle league, the metropolitan police revolver league, the recreational pistol league also organize competitive shoots at the club's ranges. The shooting ranges are supervised by a qualified member of the club.member dues fund this activity, and range fees are required for member guests.organized shoots and supervised use of the ranges encourages safe and proper gun use and good sportsmanship. This program provides entertainment and recreation for the membership.firearm use traininghunter safety courses are offered annually in association with the Pennsylvania game commission. Junior rifle and shotgun programs teach young shooters 12 and over safety and shooting techniques. The club also assists several boy scout troops with training to enable the scouts to earn merit badges.
