Climate action for curators program helps a small group of grantees reduce their environmental impact and increase climate awareness. Many visual art curators want to address the climate emergency in both what they produce and how they produce it, but often lack the capacity and expertise to do so. The program addresses these barriers by supplementing funding with coaching support. Curators work with a sustainability coach to develop a climate plan that fits their capacity and is relevant to their organization and audience. Sustainability coach rute collaborative helps grantees define their organizational needs and identify ways to meet them. Participants may access up to $25,000 in grants to bring their plans to life. The program also included a speaker series for recipients to learn from others working in the field and engage with climate action, and has offered events in which arts and climate stakeholders to come to come together and learn from each other in a public setting.
