Avera Mckennan Hospital Medical Staff

The primary purpose of the organization is to constitute a professional collegial organization of the Medical professionals accredited to practice at Avera Mckennan Hospital; to provide credentialing services and process for physicians, dentists, and allied health professionals to obtain clinical practice privileges at the Hospital; to provide consultation and professional support to the members; to assure patient care at the Hospital is consistently maintained at an optimal level; to work with the Hospital to establish appropriate professional responsibilities, authority and accountability; to provide a mechanism for accountability of its members to the Hospital for appropriate patient care, ethical conduct and teaching and research activities at the Hospital; to provide a means by which members can participate with the Hospital to formulate policies and plans regarding Medical care and practice, and to provide appropriate professional disciplinary supervision as may be required.
