Epixotic hemorrhage disease (ehd), sometimes referred to as blue tongue, is an acute infectious and often fatal viral disease affecting wild ruminants (deer), including whitetail deer. Deer Breeders corporation is engaged in acquiring ehd isolates from tissue samples used by vaccine manufacturers to develop and evolve vaccines to stay in front of these infectious diseases. Dbc is also engaged in the distributions of these vaccines in an effort to control these infectious diseases amongst the population of wild ruminants. Dbc is engaged in interfacing with the Texas department of parks and wildlife and owners on trap transport and transplant of wildlife, specifically whitetail deer, which involved the acquisition of permits to engage in such activities and ensuring appropriate habitat exists and such efforts are coordinated ethically. Dbc funds grants to academic institutions to fund studies for developing vaccines for infectious diseases.
