The mission of Long Island Communities of Practice, Inc. is to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and their families through the utilization of a unique forum, a "community of Practice", in which all stakeholders come together around a shared vision, addressing family education, recreation and support needs. (1) Provide humanitarian assistance to people with disabilities (2) Implement and support social and recreational programs for children with disabilities and their families (3) Provide resources to local level organizations to help build their capacity to provide support to people with disabilities (4) Implement and support programs that educate the community about disability awareness (5) Create and implement programs that support career development for people with disabilities (6) Implement and support programs that further the mission of Long Island Communities of Practice, Inc.
