The organization was formed to raise public awareness of the effects and hazards of high-altitude electromagnetic pulse ("emp") attack on critical national infrastructures arising from the detonation of nuclear weapons, the emp effects and hazards arising from natural phenomena, including solar storms, and to promote the welfare and well being of the public by providing a forum to discuss the effects of emp, the prevention of nuclear proliferation, and the protection from these potential hazards.
