The Western Pennsylvania Jewish SPORTS Hall of fame ("WPJSHF") educates Jewish youth as to their heritage vis-a-vis Jewish men and women who have made significant contributions to society through SPORTS and likewise educates the general public regarding the history and contribution of Western Pennsylvania jews to society through SPORTS. This educational process culminates each year in the enshrinement of Jewish athletes and notable SPORTS figures into the WPJSHF, who have distinguished themselves through significant contributions to the community both on and off the field. The WPJSHF sells advertising at its enshrinement dinner and assesses membership dues amoung its members to raise funds to support Jewish and other youth based SPORTS programming in and about the pittsburgh area. The WPJSHF, on a continuing basis, collects, preserves, and contributes SPORTS photographs and memorabilia of prominant Jewish athletes to the rauh Jewish archives of the heinz history center and other cultur
