The purpose of the Newport News Police department foundation is to improve and secure the quality of life, public safety and environment of the citizens of the city, its businesses and institutions, and its visitors recognizing that the Newport News Police department is a key and critical force in successfully accomplishing those objectives. In furtherance of such purpose, the foundation will raise, manage, invest and distribute financial resources by funding, assisting or undertaking programs and activities designed to support, enhance and strengthen the servcies, organization, performance, competence, and professionalism of the nnpd, its officers and members.
