Wantagh Fire Department

The Wantagh Fire Department is a volunteer fire organization whose purpose is to provide volunteer fire protection, fire education and awareness. As well, members of the organization provide emergency medical assistance, hazardous material response and removal services, and life preservation services to the community. The volunteer fire fighters, hazardous material specialists and emergency medical specialists of the Department primarily serve the Wantagh Fire district (a governmental entity). The departments's members alo provide "mutual aid and "standby" services to surrounding districts when required to do so.
