The purposes of the organization are: to promote and support the diagnosis and treatment of Cancer and basic and applied biomedical and other scientific research and related educational services in the field of Oncology; to own and lease real estate in order to enhance and to provide facilities for the conduct of such diagnosis, treatment, biomedical and other scientific research, education and other hospital related support functions; to promote and support education in the field of Oncology and such research and to own, lease and operate facilities that provide educational services, all primarily in connection with nyu langone hospitals ("hospitals"), and to achieve its purposes by conducting and supporting activities for the benefit of, performing the functions of, or carrying out the purposes of hospitals center. The Cancer center is a 13-story, 115,000 square foot facility that consolidates and expands the previous outpatient services of hospitals.
