Nexus' work ensures that people participate in the economic, civic and social activities that improve their communities and advance racial, social and economic equity. Nexus works on the East Side of St. Paul, in North and South Minneapolis, and in the broader Twin Cities region. Nexus advances its mission by focusing on three key activities: 1. Strengthening organizations: Nexus builds the capacity of the Community-based organizations and their leaders to promote equitable and sustainable change in their communities. This is accomplished through funding and on-the-ground technical assistance. 2. Developing innovative initiatives: Nexus creates the space and provides support to innovative initiatives that advance equity and sustainable change. 3. Aligning and amplifying resources: Nexus intentionally connects local efforts to broader regional initiatives, linking neighborhoods to regional institutions, decision-making and economic opportunities.
