To protect the safety of the citizens of the commonwealth of Massachusetts by promoting uniform enforcement of all state laws and regulations, and all local by-laws or ordinances, relating to, or regulating the use, construction, or inspection of buildings and other structures; to encourage and provide a forum for the free exchange of ideas and information among its members; to the Building trades, to promote safe and sound methods of construction; and to encourage mutual assistance, friendly cooperation, and harmony among its members.
