YWCA hamilton is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. The primary programs include permanent supportive housing for low-income homeless individuals with disabilities, a domestic violence shelter and domestic violence shelter and domestic violence crisis hotline which serves survivors of domestic violence abuse, sexual assault, dating violence, and stalking, and a youth advocacy and empowerment program to prevent sexual abuse. All programs are rooted in the evidence-based practices of trauma informed care.
