Made up exclusively of men and women disabled in our national defense, the dav is dedicated to building better lives for America's disabled veterans and their families. This is carried out by providing free, professional assistance in obtaining benefits and services earned through military service; representing the interest of disabled veterans, their families,their widowed spouses and their orphans before federal, state and local governments: extending dav's mission of hope into communities where veterans live: and providing structure through which disabled veterans can express their compassion for their fellow veterans through a variety ofvolunteer programs.
