Early childhood intervention: the early childhood caries prevention project, in partnership with ronald mcdonald house charities, is a three year project designed to develop a comprehensive evidence-based/promising practice protocol in federally funded early head start and head start centers. The project aims to reduce the incidence of childhood caries by the age of five by providing family and children engagement and education, bi-annual Oral Health screenings and fluoride varnish applications, working with families to establish a dental home, and case management for those children identified as high risk.
