It shares the purposes set forth in Title 36 USC 230102 for the congressionally charted Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. As a "Veterans Service Organization", the mission of Mendota Post No. 4079, Veterans of Foreign Wars consists of veterans advocacy, historical education and commemoration, encouraging national security through support of our nation's men and women in uniform, promoting good citizenship and community service, encouraging America's youth to excel in academics, athletics and community service, facilitating direct assistance to needy military personnel and their families and to veterans and supporting actions and activities that further these missions.
