FVB Umpires Association

The main purpose of the Fox Valley Blues Umpires Association (FVBUA) is to improve the quality of baseball and softball officiating in a targeted geography (Chicago). This is done by providing educational opportunities to our members and community clients, allowing them to grow as baseball officials through the following methods: Umpire Training - FVBUA sponsors several clinics each year as our primary function. These clinics are educational in nature, with the soul purpose of assessing an individual umpire's needs and offering that individual targeted instruction. Such clinics are not mandated for membership, but are offered free of charge to our membership. Some of the techniques we use at these clinics are videotaped, hands-on instruction; classroom discussion; handout materials; guest speakers; and rules interpretation discussions. The clinics run throughout the spring and summer and are hosted at an area high school or college facility.
