Computercorps is organized exclusively for charitable, education and scientific purposes. The mission is to provide access to computer technology and skills training for under-served communities and eliminate electronic scrap in our nation's landfills. Computercorps accepts donations of computers and other electronic equipment from businesses, government entities and individuals. This equipment is assessed for either reuse or scrap. Qualifying equipment is refurbished and returned to the community at little or no cost. Scrap is dismantled and sold to re-cyclers. All of this work is done by volunteers who have contributed more than 994,000 hours of service to Computercorps in the past 25 plus years. We provide volunteer and learning opportunities for seniors, school age children, the developmentally disabled, court ordered community service individuals, displaced workers and veterans.
