Hoefer Family Foundation

The foundation has begun to acquire a collection of artwork of painters using the plein air approach to painting who painted California scenes from approximately the post gold rush era to 1940. When a sufficient number of paintings have been acquired, the foundation will seek to exhibit them as a stand alone collection in public art museums and libraries in order to help educate the general public about this form of well known and appreciated painting.
