National Coalition to Liberate Methadone Inc

Founded in 2022, the National Coalition to Liberate Methadone (NCLM) is a National organization of more than a hundred people in several US States. NCLM members are people with living or lived experience on Methadone and advocates, addiction medicine clinicians, substance use researchers, and those inhabiting many of those identities. NCLM members are active participants, providers, evaluators, and clinical leaders of OTP clinics across the country. NCLM members have deep expertise and commitment to improving the health of people on Methadone. Fifty years of research show Methadone treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD) reduces morbidity and mortality, improves quality of life, and treatment retention. NCLM supports expanding Methadone treatment access for all individuals who meet diagnostic criteria for OUD.
