The Foundation began in 1996 with the purpose of providing funding for learners of all ages for learning experiences and projects that did not receive funding from the general school District budget. Recipients are selected based on educational value, number of learners impacted, availability of other sources of funding, and demonstrated need for the project. The grant application process calendar is September through May of each school year. In addition, thirteen scholarships were awarded to graduating seniors.
