The Dublin Dazzlers Synchronized Ice Skating Team was formed for charitable purposes in January of 1999. Specifically, it provided an opportunity for young ice skaters, between the ages of 8 and 18, to learn the techniques of synchronized ice skating and experience the challenges and pleasures of participating in a team sport. In March of 1999, a second team, the Dublin Dolls, was established to more effectively accommodate the wide range of skating ability and maturity levels demonstrated by the members of the original team. Both the Dublin Dazzlers and the Dublin Dolls teams operate as one organization for financial and tax reporting purposes under the name Dublin Dazzlers.
