High Sierra Outdoor Institute

Primary focus is as a science, physical education, and leadership Christian ministry providing Outdoor education programs to our youth with an emphasis on experiential learning. All curriculum is designed to meet current California state standards for 5th through 8th grades in the specific areas of natural sciences, physical sciences, earth sciences, movement concepts, social interaction, and group dynamics. While many participants are from chirstian schools, when public and charter schools are in attendance, class content and presentation is modified so as to remain within the limitations of current interpretations of the "separation clause". Academic rigor and California state required science content is strictly maintained for all participating schools.
