Wild Forests and Fauna

Wild Forests and Fauna (wildff) is a 501(c)(3) us-based non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and restoring high value Forests by supporting local leadership of community-based projects. Based out of carnation, wa, the wildff team believes that to address the loss of global hiodiversity, they must take a systematic, place-based approach and involve multiple stakeholders, particularly with local communities. We are currently working alongside our partner in the drc, congo to assess the potential for a community-based conservation project with several groupments (regions) in tshuapa province. We support our drc partner, congo biotropical institute (cbi), in undertaking camera-trap surveys to assess the biological diversity of the area. Community engagement is also a main activity, and cbi continues to build and maintain relationships with local leaders and gain consensus.
