Provide the County elementary schools with a weekly "backpack program" - the purpose is to provide elementary students of needy families a supplement to the child's food requirements through the weekend when schools meals are not available. There are currently 424 students on a weekly basis that are provided with a "backpack" for the weekend. Establish and operate a monthly "bulk food" distribution center - the purpose is to provide residents of Crawford County, iowa a bulk food distribution center working in association with the siouxland regional food bank. The County's population has 25% of the resident's whose income is at or below the level to qualify for food stamps
