Create and manage consortia comprising industry, and academic and nonprofit research entities; and, through the use of other transaction authority, facilitate collaborative research, development and demonstration of cutting-edge technologies between consortia members and the department of defense (dod). In doing so, Consortium Management Group, inc. (CMG) lessens the burden on government and fulfills its mission to expand the industrial base available to the government by providing a pathway for the dod to leverage commercial innovation and investments in technology required to accelerate delivery of new capabilities to the warfighter.
