2024 research activitiesin 2024, the wong mnc center had three major, ongoing research projects: (a) an edited book project about the economic and political effects of Chinese outward foreign direct investment (fdi) in Southeast Asia, which has been put into the publication process at routledge, a well-respected mass market, academic publisher; (b) a collaborative book project on Chinese overseas ports in Africa and the Middle East; and (c) a multi-year book project examining china's digital silk road (dsr). Dr. Jean-marc f. Blanchard, the wong mnc center's executive director, is editing the first two books and contributing numerous chapters to each as well as authoring the third book. Blanchard also undertook research for the wong mnc center's podcast "musings about Multinational corporations" (mamncs) his wong mnc center blogs, and the center's online publication "hot topics for mncs, cool analysis" (htca).
