IslandCorps is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to reimagining education and improving pediatric health and wellness for children and youth in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Through school adoptions, public health programs, nutrition initiatives, and volunteer-driven community engagement, IslandCorps works to break the cycle of poverty by empowering Island communities with access to equitable, inspiring, and resilient learning environments. In 2024, IslandCorps mobilized hundreds of volunteers to rehabilitate public school classrooms, distributed over 9,700 toys to children in need, and launched its Eat Like an Islander pediatric nutrition initiative, delivering nutritious meals to summer camps in Vieques. The organization also hosted a Family Health Fair in Culebra, providing medical evaluations to children and elderly residents, and expanded its impact through strategic collaborations with the University of Miami, COREFI, and local artists and educators.
