Offshore Service Vessel Dynamic Positioning Authority

The mission is to establish standards for the Dynamic Positioning of Offshore Service vessels, with particular reference to the Offshore oil and gas industry, to update the standards from time to time to reflect the requirements of public safety and the protection of the environment, property, and persons, to establish standards for testing and a training curriculum to prepare personnel and companies in the Offshore industry to comply with the standards in the performance of their employment duties, to publish the standards and certification requirements and all updates of the standards and certification requirements, to grant licenses to institutions of learning, such as colleges, technical schools and other similar entities that host academic and functional training activities pursuant to which the training partners may make available training programs that meet the certification requirements and which train participants to implement the standards, to issue and to renew certificates.
