YANA seeks to create a vibrant, engaged community of yale university Alumni, drawn together by the common thread of their yale experience and their dedication to working in the public interest, that is committed to advancing the greater social good through work in five key areas: "building community" by facilitating mentoring opportunities for Alumni and students, so they may broaden their personal networks and professional skills; "promoting lifelong learning opportunities" by organizing and promoting YANA programs and activities that draw on Alumni knowledge, and the expertise of Alumni and other professionals; "creating ongoing opportunities for yale students" to explore meaningful career paths in the Nonprofit and social sectors; "contributing to yale" by enabling Alumni to contribute their time, talent, and financial support to the yale community; and "contributing to society" by engaging in service activities that benefit the wider community and support mission of YANA.
