The uccla foundation is a nonprofit cultural organization not organized for the private gain of any persons, is active on the territory of the state of California and beyond, uniting persons of Ukrainian descent and their organizations, in order to, among other matters: a.develop, coordinate and guide the national-civic life of its members; b.undertake the conduct of various activities intended to represent Ukrainian Culture, and preserve worthwhile customs and traditions of the Ukrainian people; c.promote education and knowledge by organizing Ukrainian schools, and by sponsoring Ukrainian courses, lectures, concerts, exhibitions and other cultural-artistic undertakings, as well as by publication of appropriate literature; d.provide moral and financial aid and assistance to its members and the Ukrainian people; and e.promote and maintain among its members the tenets of American citizenship and love of the Ukrainian people.
