Basic Learning SKILLS Learning Center Inc provides a no-frills real tutoring program to youth in grades K- 12 Generally students are taught by subject area certified tutors in Math and Reading Each participant receives a total of 25 hours of which 20 are instructional with the remaining 5 earmarked for parentguardian consultation pre and post-test administration and evaluation Parentguardian conferences cover student progress and discussion of practical follow-up educational support activities which can be conducted in the home with children in between tutoring sessions The allotted time for tutoring sessions ranges from 1 to 15 hours Each participating student is administered a pre-assessment to identify specific deficiencies in Reading
