The African American Intellectual History Society AAIHS is an educational nonprofit organization that aims to foster dialogue about researching writing and teaching Black History and culture. We advance these goals through a number of initiatives providing resources and support for students professors and members of the general public who are interested in Black History. Each year we offer grants fellowships and prizes to support archival research for those who are writing dissertations and books in the field of Black Intellectual History--which broadly refers to the study of ideas and ideologies of Black people in the United States and across the globe. The organization seeks to educate the public about the significance of Black History and culture and we do this through several avenues including a popular blog that we make widely available to the public at no cost.
